High School Prep
Our Graduate Support team leads the families of our eighth-graders through the transition to high school. Graduate Support provides assistance to parents and students every step of the way throughout the high school admissions process. We aim to make sure our families are supported with everything from preparing for entrance exams to filling out and submitting applications within allotted deadlines.
Exploring High school options
The high school exploration process begins with the annual high school fair. Eighth-graders and their families are encouraged to attend and learn about all of the different high schools in our area. Students also get a chance to meet and ask questions of the members of admissions teams from the various schools. The next step in the process involves students visiting their selected schools for tours with their families.
Applying for high school
The next steps in the application process are registering students for entrance exams and submitting applications. Requirements for admission vary by school and may include student and parent essays, teacher recommendations, and entrance exams. Our Graduate Support team helps families navigate this process and fulfill all necessary requirements to be considered for admission. Students are also aided in scheduling and attending dates to shadow a current high school student and experience what a day is like at a prospective school.
applying for financial assistance
Members of the Graduate Support Department work with families of 8th grade students to explore and apply for financial assistance opportunities that are available to them beyond San Miguel. We aim to ensure that our Miguel Men and their families are supported throughout the entirety of the high school admissions process.
