THE STAR CAMPAIGN

Founded in 1993 by Brother Lawrence Goyette, FSC, on a dream of providing high-quality, Lasallian education to boys of great promise but limited economic resource, San Miguel has graduated over 350 young men, all of whom have benefited from the efforts of those who worked so hard to make this original dream a reality. Today, it still remains a Lasallian middle school for 64 boys in grades five through eight. Since its inception, San Miguel has provided students with the education and tools needed to discover and embrace their innate talents. Now in our 28th year, we are confident that the San Miguel model works, and by way of this campaign, we intend to put a permanent foundation under the school for decades to come.

The Star Campaign is a $6 million campaign that will enable San Miguel to continue to provide a nurturing environment and exceptional education to our students for many years to come. On behalf of past, current, and future Miguel Men, please consider supporting this historic campaign, aimed at brightening the lives of all those connected to San Miguel School. Support in any amount symbolizes your commitment to our future, one of great promise for many more deserving and ambitious young men to come.

CHARTING A BRIGHT FUTURE

Giving to The Star Campaign will help us illuminate the way to a brighter future for our students. Thanks to our incredibly generous donors, we've reached our $6 million dollar goal! Whether it's giving to our Academic or Graduate Support programs, or donating to the construction of a new roof or the Charles Kitson Student and Family Support Center, supporting The Star Campaign touches the lives of all connected to the San Miguel mission. Please consider making a gift today to ensure that all Miguel Men, past, present, and future are able to chart their way to the brightest of futures.

Letter from The Star Campaign Co-Chairs

Dear Friends,

For many years, our close friends and co-chairs, Ned and Polly Handy, had been talking to us about the wonderful work taking place at the San Miguel School in Providence. Although we were aware of the history of the school under the incredible leadership of its founder, Brother Lawrence Goyette, FSC, we had not seen for ourselves the “miracle” that is often talked about. After one visit to a morning assembly, we both became involved as a board member, a mentor, and student sponsors. In these roles, we did witness first-hand the miracle of San Miguel and the amazing transformation of shy, young fifth-grade boys into mature, confident San Miguel men prepared for high school. Over the last twenty-eight years, more than 365 students have walked through the doors of SMS, and we want to ensure that another 365 plus young men will have that same opportunity over the next twenty-eight years.

We are honored to be co-chairing the first ever San Miguel Campaign and proud to be making a lead gift to make that happen. Along with Ned and Polly, we invite you to consider supporting this campaign and being a part of the miracle of San Miguel. A gift of any size is meaningful and deeply appreciated. Please join us.

With gratitude,

Meredith and Joe MarcAurele, Co-Chairs
