Learning is not over when the bell rings! Students switch gears to take advantage of afternoon clubs and activities:

Art Club

Moderated by art students from Providence College, Art Club helps students to unleash their creative talents while practicing new skills as young artists.

Arts Alive!

A free program offered by La Salle Academy, Arts Alive! offers students the opportunity to take Saturday morning classes in art, dance, and drama. Arts Alive! is a joint venture of La Salle Academy, The San Miguel School, Providence Catholic Elementary Schools, and Tides Family Services.

Chess Club

The San Miguel Chess Club helps students to enhance their chess skills and strategy, building life skills and fellowship. The chess team is also a contender at many local tournaments.

CityYear Young Heroes

San Miguel students have the opportunity to participate in the Young Heroes through City Year. This program takes place on Saturdays from January through May, focusing on different social issues and incorporating related community service projects and interactive lessons.

San Miguel Dance Team

The San Miguel Dance Team meets weekly to learn and perfect dance moves in the areas of jazz, step, and tap. The team is a popular act at the school's Spring Awards Luncheons and highlights the annual Gala with their end-of-year performance. The dance team has also been invited to perform their numbers at other schools and events.

Lasallian Youth

This club incorporates the three pillars of the Lasallian mission: faith, community, and service. Lasallian Youth aims to instill these values in its members through various activities and service projects.

VOYAGE

This program seeks to offer Valuable Opportunities for Youth Advancement, Growth, and Enrichment (VOYAGE), providing individualized help based on each student's needs. VOYAGE students are invited to participate in one of five specified labs: Math Lab, Language Arts Lab, Study Skills Lab, Reading Lab, or Study Hall. San Miguel teachers and staff members are joined by volunteers from Providence College in offering homework assistance and enrichment activities aimed at advancing the students' overall skills and ability. San Miguel has also partnered with the Dunn Institute to provide Title I programs and teachers for the students selected for the Reading Lab.

Young Directors' Club

Moderated by LaSalle Academy Media Teacher Elissa Cerros, the Young Directors plan, film, edit, and produce short films and movies. This activity takes place in the spring, and their final project is 'premiered' at the San Miguel Gala in May.
