Three eighth-graders and five seventh-graders were commissioned into the Lasallian Youth program at The San Miguel School on November 3.
The group was commissioned by sixth-grade teacher Sarah Laitinen, who joins with fifth-grade teacher Karen Carty in moderating the program at San Miguel. Assisting in the ceremony was Bro. Frederick Mueller, Lasallian Coordinator at La Salle Academy, and Maryann Donohue-Lynch, La Salle's Campus Minister.
Lasallian Youth are dedicated to enriching their own experience of the Lasallian charism through immersion in the pillars of faith, community, and service. The group participates in a variety of service projects throughout the year, seeking to build community. San Miguel's Lasallian Youth group joins thousands of other groups worldwide in continuing the tradition and work of St. John Baptist de La Salle.
