Citizens Bank among Miguel Medal recipients

The San Miguel School will honor Robert Murphy, Peter and Sandy Arnold, and Citizens Bank as Miguel Medal recipients at "The Many Voices of San Miguel" Gala on May 8, paying tribute to their significant support and contribution to the school.

The annual Gala, to benefit the Scholarship Fund, will be held at the Pell Chafee Performance Center in Providence, an opportunity to honor the achievements of the San Miguel students and school supporters. Miguel Medal recipients are given special acknowledgement as champions for the San Miguel mission.

Bob Murphy, of Providence, currently serves as a mentor to a San Miguel student and helps coach the school baseball team. The Murphys also lead the 'cheering' section in support of the San Miguel soccer and basketball teams.

The Arnolds, of Charlestown, have been strong ambassadors of the school for more than 12 years and have introduced The San Miguel School to many foundations and friends.

Citizens Bank, the first corporation to be honored with a Miguel Medal, has been a valuable supporter of San Miguel for many years. Citizens employees have also been involved at San Miguel as mentors, volunteers, and committee members.

The Gala will also highlight performances by the San Miguel School Chorus and the San Miguel Dance Team and will feature silent and live auctions. All proceeds from the event will support the San Miguel School Scholarship Fund, helping to close the gap between what families are able to pay and the full-tuition cost.
